Why us?

Wouldn’t it be nice to find eco-serviced accommodation in Bedford or Milton Keynes without the hassle,
the fear of the unknown and the unnecessary high rates?

Hi Scotty & Jax here… This is our little intro and an invite to being our guest.

Both of us are entrepreneurs & business owners from London & Essex respectively

We met through work back in the early 2000’s – Jax was working at a company Scotty was building some software for. Overtime we got to know each other (and she still liked him – what a bonus!)

We got chatting at an industry networking event. Scotty knew she had to be his… she ‘intrigued’ him with her energy, creativity and ambition (and she is drop dead gawge – of course)

After a whirlwind romance we moved into together and started to plan the life of our dreams.

We sold up from London and bought a 24 acre farm in the rural north beds countryside to build our forever home, grow some little humans and live ‘the good life’;

Whilst rescuing & breeding some feathered and fluffy animals.

Everyone said we were crazy (and they were right of course)

We had left our fast paced, convenient and accessible life behind; in the quest to create a new life…

They say it’s ‘The Good Life’; but you try and get through a winter in a static caravan with no heating and a generator for power…

There was ice on the inside of our single pane windows and no TV (hence the birth of out first born – Harry) Unfortunately we feel into some serious health and financial troubles so we knew we wanted to develop a business that meant something to us and left a legacy for the new mancubs (Millie came a long a little later)

We wanted to build a business that could support us all as we built our farm from the ground up.

TBH it was really tough (we had some dark days)

But over time things started to get a little easier and we started to be able to decide what we wanted to do. We have proudly designed Free Range Stays to meet the needs of the modern day demand for flexible lifestyles, whilst looking after our community and planet.

We understand what you need; as we were also the discerning professional that wanted a premium and affordable accommodation that inspires and invigorates them;

But most of the time we couldn’t find it…

That is why all the personal little details have been designed just to give you that edge you need.

How are we "Green"?

  • Currently a Silver Green Tourism Award Winner (Working towards a Gold Award!)
  • Work with the Woodland Trust to plant 1,000s of trees
  • We only use re-newable energy tariffs
  • We adopt recycling & up-cycling plans in every property
  • We use energy efficient appliances
  • We only supply chemical free cleanings products in each property
  • We only supply "eco" toilet roll
  • We only supply cruelty free botanicals with environmentally responsible packaging
  • We only supply toiletries that use recyclable plastics & are recyclable
  • We promote reduced carbon travel plans
  • We promote local and independent businesses
  • We donate part of every booking fee to our Community "Pathway" Programme. Providing opportunities for education, employment or entrepreneurship to our wider community
